I’ve been a wedding photographer since 2014 at www.dublinweddingphotography.com. It’s a fantastic job if you love photography and people, although if you can’t handle the pressure of long days spent working to fixed deadlines while keeping everyone happy maybe it’s not the job for you.

I work with my wife, Jill, who is also a photographer: www.gillianbuckley.com. Jill specialises in food photography, industrial photography, business portraits, and all manner of commercial work. Her clients include some of the leading design agencies in Ireland, and she has undertaken work for some of the country’s biggest retail brands in Ireland, the UK and France.

We live on a farm in north County Dublin, between Swords and Ashbourne, with our son Jack and far too many cats.

Before being a wedding photographer I worked as a farm labourer for two years. Mostly outdoors with sheep and cattle, no matter the weather, but also in packing houses with fruit and veg. Loved being outdoors, especially during lambing season — the best time of the year to feel connected to the world.

From 2002-2012 I owned a web development company which grew to fifteen employees. I worked as Creative Director, specialising in frontend design and SEO; which was good fun, until it wasn’t. Previous to that I had been a Senior UX Designer in a Technology Company for 2 years, and a Creative Director in an Advertising Agency for four years. I also wrote a novel and had it published, once upon a time.

End.
